Graeme Rough

Graeme is a co-director of Saturday School Ltd. As well as being one of the leading tutors in Glasgow he has also served as Faculty Leader of Science at a comprehensive high school in Central Scotland. Before completing his university degree in Physics and subsequent PGDE, Graeme trained and worked in industry, spending six years as a Mechanical Services Engineer.  Graeme is now the Project Manager for the Scottish Government Young STEM Leader Programme and has held this post since March 2019.

Graeme is passionate about linking higher/ further education and work beyond high school into learning – raising participation in STEM among young people on a national scale is now his main objective. He has worked regularly with organisations such as the Engineering Development Trust, SSERC, STEM Ambassadors, STEM companies/ employees and many of the Scottish colleges and universities to create learning opportunities and projects for young people. Most notably he has recently supported teams of senior students towards victory in the Engineering Education Scheme for two consecutive years.

Graeme is a driven and committed teacher, Science graduate and qualified Engineer who co-directs Saturday School tutors in Glasgow. He also leads the Higher Physics section and coordinates the SQA Personal Development Award.
