Are you in, or entering, the senior phase of secondary school in Edinburgh or the East of Scotland?

Are you considering, or would you consider, a career in cyber security?

Would you like:

  • fully funded educational support in National 5 Maths

  • support and coaching from inspirational leaders in the cyber security field

  • fast-track entry to a range of digital courses at Edinburgh College or West Lothian College

  • subsequent advanced entry into Napier University’s B(Eng) Hons Cyber Security degree course.

With the incredible generosity and support of i-confidential, we are providing enhanced educational support for six young people in National 5 Maths, with a series of engagements with inspirational role models in the cyber security industry.  Scholars who complete the programme (gaining a D or above) in their N5 Maths exam will automatically be offered a place on a relevant course at Edinburgh College or West Lothian College, creating the opportunity for advanced entry onto associated degree courses at Edinburgh Napier University

i-confidential is so pleased to be partnering with Saturday School Ltd to launch the i-confidential Cyber Security Scholarship.  The scholarship is borne out of our belief, that as a company, we need to make a tangible difference to encourage young people to consider cyber security as a potential future pathway.

The focus of this scholarship is to offer young people from under-represented groups and underserved communities a fast track into cyber security study and careers; a major growth sector in Scotland that offers highly lucrative and successful career pathways for young people in Scotland.

Cyber security is a fast-growing global industry with incredible career opportunities.  With average UK salaries at over £55k and more experienced positions earning upwards of £70k, the potential and rewards for new entrants to this industry are huge.

The scholarship programme will support scholars to gain their National 5 Maths qualification which is an essential qualification to study cyber security in colleges and universities and move into careers in the sector.  It will also connect scholars with a group of key figures and inspirational role models in the cyber security sector.  These figures will all share their knowledge and expertise via a series of cyber security-themed engagements.

Young people taking part in the i-confidential Cyber Security Scholarship can expect:

  • Attendance at all six Weekly Lessons in National 5 Maths at Napier University Sighthill Campus, Saturday mornings Feb to Apr 2024

  • Attendance at both Grade Booster Days in National 5 Maths, during the Easter break in 2024

  • Unlimited online support via Google Classroom from Saturday School’s fully qualified maths teachers

  • A series of engagements and activities with a group of inspirational role models from the cyber security sector, including senior leaders in companies, college and university staff, and award-winning cyber security individuals

  • Fast-track entry to a range of digital courses at Edinburgh College or West Lothian College

  • Subsequent advanced entry into Napier University’s B(Eng) Hons Cyber Security degree course or other relevant courses.

We look forward to receiving applications, selecting our scholars, and getting to work with our inaugural group for 2024.
