Supporting young people into a future in cyber security

Are you in, or entering, the senior phase of secondary school in the East of Scotland?

Are you considering, or would you consider, a career in cyber security?

Would you like fully funded educational support in National 5 Maths, backing from leaders in the cyber security field, and guaranteed entry to a cyber security NPA or HNC at West Lothian College?
With the incredible generosity and support of i-confidential, we are providing enhanced educational support for six young people in National 5 Maths, with a series of engagements with inspirational role models in the cyber security industry. Scholars who complete the programme (gaining a D or above) in their N5 Maths exam will automatically be offered a place on the NPA in Cyber Security at West Lothian College. Furthermore, scholars who have a Higher qualification in a relevant STEM subject will be offered a place on the HNC in Cyber Security or Computing.

i-confidential is so pleased to be partnering with Saturday School Ltd to launch the i-confidential Cyber Security Scholarship. The scholarship is borne out of our belief, that as a company, we need to make a tangible difference to encourage young people to consider cyber security as a potential future pathway.
The focus of this scholarship is to offer young people from under-represented groups and underserved communities a fast track into cyber security study and careers. The programme will support scholars to gain their National 5 Maths qualification which is an essential qualification to study cyber security in further education colleges. It will also connect scholars with a group of key figures and inspirational role models in the cyber security sector. These figures will all share their knowledge and expertise via a series of cyber security-themed engagements.
Young people taking part in the i-confidential Cyber Security Scholarship can expect:
-
Attendance at all six Weekly Lessons in National 5 Maths at Napier University Sighthill Campus, Saturday mornings Feb to Apr 2024
-
Attendance at both Grade Booster Days in National 5 Maths, during the Easter break in 2024
-
Unlimited online support via Google Classroom from Saturday School’s fully qualified maths teachers
-
A series of engagements and activities with a group of inspirational role models from the cyber security sector, including senior leaders in companies, college and university staff, and award-winning cyber security individuals
-
A fast-track entry to either the NPA or HNC in Cyber Security or Computing Science at West Lothian College (on successful completion of the scholarship).
We look forward to receiving applications, selecting our scholars, and getting to work with our inaugural group for 2024.
